International Student Conference

On 27 October 2026, an online student conference was held as part of the NEXT project, bringing together students, academic staff, and representatives of partner institutions from Ukraine and Slovakia. The event took place via Zoom and provided an opportunity for students to present their projects, share their achievements, and exchange ideas with an international audience.

The conference opened with welcome remarks from Prof. Gregor Rozinaj, NEXT Project Coordinator, and Prof. Yevgeniya Sulema, who moderated the event.

The programme featured nine student presentations covering a variety of technical solutions and practical applications. Several participants complemented their presentations with live demonstrations of working systems, including a published VRChat world, a web application, and a remotely operated laboratory.

Students representing five universities participated in the conference:

  • Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STUBA), Slovakia;
  • National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (ISKPI), Ukraine;
  • Odesa Polytechnic National University (OPNU), Ukraine;
  • Cherkasy State Technological University (ChSTU), Ukraine;
  • Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (IFNUL), Ukraine.

The event attracted more than 35 students, including 15 authors and co-authors of the presented projects. Some projects were developed collaboratively by student teams under the supervision of academic staff. Teachers and representatives of NEXT partner institutions also joined the conference.

The conference provided a valuable platform for showcasing student achievements, encouraging knowledge exchange, and strengthening academic cooperation between the participating institutions.
